Greetings, brave knights of the trading realm! Sir Dogecoat here, and the Holy Grail is positively glowing this morning - though it might just be the reflection from my screen showing these rather lovely setups.
Today's market presents us with a curious contradiction worthy of the Ministry of Silly Walks: while our continental cousins in Germany are doing their best impression of a Norwegian Blue parrot (lying on their backs with feet in the air), the FTSE has decided to perform a rather spirited gallop upward. Fear not though, for in these mixed signals lie opportunities as golden as the Grail itself!
SIE.DE emerges as our champion with the most compelling confluence I've seen since Arthur pulled Excalibur from stone. This German engineering giant has tumbled to oversold depths with RSI at 17.3 but showing a turning slope of +0.42 - like a knight who's taken quite a beating but is now reaching for his sword. The Stochastic at 3.7 confirms we're at the very bottom of the castle dungeon, whilst MACD histogram shows positive momentum building (+0.0427). Even fighting the DAX's -0.33% headwind, this setup screams "I'm not dead yet!" with magnificent plumage.
VONN.CH presents an almost absurdly generous risk-reward ratio of 11.63:1 - though I suspect this might be too good to be true, like finding a holy grail that's actually just a pen holder (speaking from experience). The RSI at 24.5 with strong turning momentum and cooperating Stochastic suggest this Swiss banker has been unfairly taunted by French market makers.
JM.ST catches my attention on the short side, displaying classic overbought exhaustion with RSI at 75.5 and Stochastic at 92.5, both turning downward. The momentum slopes are singing in perfect harmony like the Knights of Camelot - if they actually could sing, that is. Sometimes the best quest is knowing when to retreat from Castle Anthrax!
However, several candidates appear to be pining for the fjords despite their lovely plumage - particularly those fighting strong index trends without sufficient momentum confluence.
We ride at market open, fellow knights! Always look on the bright side of volatility!
Hour 11 Update
Huzzah! Our noble quest continues with Siemens completing its valiant charge at 250.45 - a fine victory for the realm! The Grail glows softly as three new knights emerge from oversold territories, all bearing the sacred RSI readings below 35 that would make even the Knights of Ni weep with joy.
Burford Capital sits deeply oversold at RSI 18.2 with momentum turning northward - 'tis but a scratch for this legal funding champion that's clearly pining for higher fjords! Credit Agricole shows similar battle scars but maintains the lovely plumage of a quality French bank in recovery mode.
Hour 12 Update
Huzzah! The markets continue their noble charge forward, with our Siemens quest concluding triumphantly while JM battles on in Swedish territory. The Holy Grail positively gleams at Ferrari's bearish engulfing pattern - 'tis a beautiful setup with RSI at 76.4 and momentum turning as surely as the Black Knight's fortunes! ACADEMEDIA and SCATEC show promising stirrings from oversold depths, but Ferrari's reversal setup has the lovely plumage of a proper short trade.
Hour 13 Update
Ah, the markets continue their valiant charge forward like brave knights storming Castle Aaaaarrrrrrggghhh! The Holy Grail on my desk glows with particular satisfaction as our European indexes march triumphantly onward - though I notice the DAX has gone a bit dead parrot on us, merely "resting" at flat whilst its continental brethren gallop ahead. Fear not though, for this bullish momentum has the lovely plumage of a proper trending day, and I shall promote our Swiss banking squire VONN.CH to full knighthood - those RSI levels of 23 are practically shouting "I'm getting better!" like a plague cart passenger who's definitely not dead yet.
Hour 14 Update
Huzzah! The market rides forth with valiant bullish vigor, and our lone VONTOBEL position stands firm like a knight defending the castle gates! The Grail dims slightly at these fresh setups - both WOSG and SCT show lovely oversold RSI readings around 29, but their risk-reward ratios are flatter than a pancake in the Ministry of Silly Walks. SMART EYE presents intriguing momentum divergence, though 'tis but a faint signal from the Nordic realms.
Hour 15 Update
Huzzah! The markets continue their noble charge forward, though our German brethren at the DAX seem to have taken a flesh wound and are stubbornly declaring "'Tis but a scratch!" The Holy Grail on my desk gives a satisfying glow as I observe these oversold champions emerging from the market's Black Knight-like beatdown. Our Siemens quest concluded triumphantly, and now I spy fresh opportunities amongst the fallen - particularly Deutsche Bank, which appears to be pining for higher prices despite its recent tumble from the ramparts!
Hour 16 Update
Huzzah! The Holy Grail practically glows like a beacon with these oversold conditions emerging across our noble European markets. Boliden shows the most splendid RSI recovery at 27.7 with momentum turning positive - 'tis but a scratch for this mining champion that's clearly pining for higher fjords! Meanwhile, our watchlist knights ACA.PA and ACAD.ST shall ride forth into proper battle formation, as their technical setups have ripened like fine shrubberies ready for harvest.
